LEWISTON — Imagine a roomful of chocolate delights to sample from during the lull that occurs after the holiday season. Imagine pastries, cakes, mousses and many other delicacies produced by fine restaurants and chefs from the Lewiston-Auburn area. What you have in reality is Chocolat.

Lewiston Middle School will present its sixth annual chocolate fundraiser for its school activities from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Green Ladle on the Lewiston High School campus.

Area chefs and restaurants will compete for awards titled “Chocoholic’s Dream” and “Decadent Display.” Patrons who participate will determine the people’s choice “Candy is Dandy Award.”

The Culinary Arts Students from Lewiston’s Regional Technical Center will also be producing an excellent choice of foods to complement the chocolate delicacies offered. Tickets are available at the Green Ladle and Lewiston Middle School. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event. Tickets are $10 and children under 5 years of age are free.

Among the 10 area groups and businesses who have committed to participate in the competition are: Maine Gourmet Chocolates, Top it Frozen Yogurt Bar, Bates College, Central Maine Community College and one of their culinary groups, Marley’s Chocolate Lab, Rolly’s Diner, The Cake Awaits, Goldfinch Bakery, Pinky Ds, Rails and Fuel Restaurant.
