FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District has a Facebook page, Superintendent Tom Ward told the school board Tuesday.
Just search for “Mt. Blue Regional School District” on Facebook and the site will come up, he said.
“It is strictly an informational page but we will be diligent of keeping it up to date whether it is a school closing or an event coming up,” he said.
Administrative Assistant Tabatha Emery, who is the assistant to Ward and Leanne Condon, director of curriculum/assistant superintendent, will post information and keep the page up to date, he said.
He asked board members to say what they want posted.
Director Ken Charles of Farmington asked that the updated list of what is happening on each of the late arrival Wednesdays be posted.
Ward said it could.
The list is also posted on the district’s website at www.mtbluersd.org.
The board approved 34 one-hour-late arrival Wednesdays last year to give teachers time for professional development without costing the district additional money.
Late arrival days began at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year. Among the topics that teachers are discussing are test-taking strategies, classroom management systems, literacy/math, supporting all students, standards, project-based learning and technology.
The next late-arrival day is Wednesday, Jan. 14.
One of the events listed on Facebook is asking people to save the date of May 22 to dedicate the new bench and landscaping at the Mt. Blue Campus to Raymond Brennick, Ronald Bailey, Richard Duntley, Kenneth Marks, Stanley Keirstead and Alan Smith.
“We would like to thank them for helping pave the way to what (Mt. Blue Regional School District/RSU 9 and Mt. Blue Campus are today,” it states.
RSU 9 towns are Chesterville, Farmington, Industry, New Sharon, New Vineyard, Starks, Temple, Vienna, Weld and Wilton.
