PARIS — A Mexico man is not expected to serve jail time after pleading guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Izaak Blood, 20, of Spring Street, pleaded guilty to a single count of Class A Gross Sexual Assault in Oxford County Superior Court on Wednesday, in exchange for a second count of the same charge being dismissed.

Active-Retired Justice Robert Clifford agreed to a deal between the Oxford County District Attorney’s office and defense attorney Sarah Glynn to continue the case for sentencing in two years.

If Blood abides by the conditions of his release during that time and has no more criminal conduct, he is expected to plead to a misdemeanor unlawful sexual contact charge and have his sentence fully suspended.

Under Maine law, Class A crimes carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

According to the conditions of his release, Blood can have no contact with the victim or any females under the age of 16, except for family, can not possess drugs or alcohol and is subject to random searches.

Under the conditions of the plea deal, he must also have counseling for mental health and psychological-sexual tendencies.

In August, a grand jury handed up the two-count indictment, charging that in September and October of 2013 Blood had sex with two girls in Mexico who were 13 years old. Blood was 19 at the time.

According to an affidavit by Mexico police Chief Roy Hodsdon, Blood gave the girls alcohol and drugs before having sex with them at his residence. The case was referred to police from a worker at the state Department of Health and Human Services.

In an interview with police, Blood reportedly admitted to having sex with the girls, could not clearly recall the incident because he was under the influence of alcohol and said the girls initiated sex.
