In the Lewiston and Portland areas, the price of heating oil is about 40 to 50 cents per gallon lower than the price in the Rumford-Mexico area.

I was talking to a truck driver who was delivering oil to their oil tanks. He said that the truck holds 11,000 gallons of oil. I find it difficult to believe that it costs about $4,600 to transport that oil to the Rumford-Mexico area, which is only about 50 miles away.

Oil company officials should be good corporate citizens and give Rumford-Mexico residents a break on the price of heating oil.
