BETHEL — The Bethel Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that it was awarded a $10,000 grant by the Maine Office of Tourism to help promote the town’s Maine Moose Lottery Festival.

The Bethel Chamber of Commerce was one of eight recipients of the Tourism Enterprise Marketing Grants, with the awards totaling $70,591.

The grant, according to the Maine Office of Tourism, is given to communities throughout Maine to help promote projects with the potential to increase visitor traffic to Maine.

Bethel is hosting the annual Maine Moose Lottery Festival from June 12 to 14, when residents will have the chance to visit several vendors and hear presentations related to hunting and trapping.

The Maine Moose Hunting permit drawing will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Bethel Town Common.
