FALMOUTH — Senior right wing Emma Martineau scored the game’s only goal 5:30 into the third period to lift Leavitt-Edward Little-Poland to a 1-0 victory over Greely in girls’ ice hockey action Saturday.
Mariah Vaillancourt won the faceoff draw and fed Martineau, who fired the shot through the five hole to give the Red Hornets (10-1) their 10th win on the season.

Monmouth 50, Wiscasset 48
WISCASSET — The Monmouth Academy Mustangs outlasted the Wiscasset Wolverines 50-48 in boys’ basketball action Saturday.
Lucas Thombs dropped in 14 points, including three 3-pointers for Monmouth. His teammates Kasey Smith and Hunter Richardson each had six buckets and added a free throw for 13 points in the victory.
Lake Region 50, Poland 37
NAPLES — The Lake Region Lakers came away with the 50-37 victory in a Western Maine Conference game against the Poland Knights in boys’ basketball Saturday.
Adam Mocciola drained five three pointers and one foul shot to lead the Knights in the losing effort.
Vinalhaven 59, Buckfield 43
VINALHAVEN — The Vinalhaven Vikings cruised past the Buckfield Bucks Saturday morning in boys’ basketball action 59-43.
The Vikings were led by Noah Slivinsky who led all scorers with 20 points.
The Bucks (1-7) were led by Jared Eastman who had 15 points.
Brewer 61, Oxford Hills 58
BREWER — Senior forward Matt Pushard scored a game-high 24 points to lead Brewer to a 61-58 triumph over Oxford Hills in KVAC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Witches (4-4) jumped out to an early 10-point lead, but shrunk back to less than a four-point spread for much of the remainder.
Junior guard Tyus Ripley recorded a team-high 17 points for the Vikings (4-4), while Andrew Fleming netted 14 points and hauled down nine rebounds for Oxford Hills in the losing effort.
Winthrop 70, Mt. Abram 44
WINTHROP — Sophomore guard Jacob Hickey scored 20 points, five rebounds and four steals to lead Winthrop to a 70-44 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Ramblers (8-0) poured on the offense in a 25-point second quarter for a 33-19 halftime lead. Anthony Owens contributed 11 points, while Dakota Carter hauled down 10 rebounds for Winthrop.
Senior forward Clinton Hanna tossed a game-high 22 points for the Roadrunners (2-6).
Messalonskee 48, Lewiston 35
LEWISTON — Nick Mayo registered a game-high 20 points to lead Messalonskee to a 48-35 victory over Lewiston in boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Eagles (4-4) drifted to a 21-13 halftime lead.
Isaiah Harris netted a team-high 18 points for the Blue Devils (4-4) in the losing effort.
Madison 73, Lisbon 48
MADISON — Chase Malloy tabulated a team-high 17 points in a balanced attack as Madison jogged to a 73-48 victory over Lisbon in boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Bulldogs (8-1) turned up the tempo in the second half, adding 13 points in the third and nine points in the fourth.
John Yim posted a game-high 20 points on eight field goals, including four from three-point range, for the Greyhounds (3-6).
Hall-Dale 66, Oak Hill 30
WALES — Brian Allen drained 16 points to lead Hall-Dale to a 66-30 triumph in boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Bulldogs (5-3) jumped out to a 39-12 halftime lead. Nearly every one of Hall-Dale’s 11 players got on the score board with at least a field goal.
Connor Elwell posted a team-leading seven points for the Raiders (2-6) in the losing effort.
Mtn. Valley 65, Telstar 53
RUMFORD — Caleb Gauvin piloted 21 points as Mountain Valley soared to a 65-53 victory over Telstar in boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Falcons (4-5) increased the tempo in the second and third frames, taking an eight-point lead after three. Brad Marshall contributed 14 points for Mountain Valley.

Hall-Dale 49, Oak Hill 46
FARMINGDALE — The Hall Dale Bulldogs got balanced scoring Saturday afternoon in a girls’ basketball contest as they defeated the Oak Hill Raiders 49-46.
Dani Sweet and Nicole Pelletier each had ten points to lead the Bulldogs (5-2).
Grace Sabine paced Oak Hill (6-1) with 13 points while teammate Bri Mulherin had 12 points.
Messalonskee 63, Lewiston 43
OAKLAND — The Messalonskee Eagles raced past the Lewiston Blue Devils 63-43 in girls’ basketball Saturday.
Sophie Holmes led all scorers with 24 points to lead the Messalonskee Eagles (5-4).
Victoria Harris led Lewiston with 15 points and eight rebounds. Amanda Swart had 11 points.
Lake Region 45, Poland 39
NAPLES — The Lake Region Lakers came away with the 45-39 victory over the Poland Knights in a Western Maine Conference matchup in girls’ basketball.
Chandler True led all scorers with 16 points in the victory while Michaella Arsenault paced the Knights with 12 points.
Gray-New Gloucester 59, Yarmouth 34
GRAY — Senior forward Maria Valente presented 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 59-34 victory over Yarmouth in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Patriots (7-0) applied a successful full court pressure in the second quarter to take a 17-3 run for a 26-11 halftime lead. Sophomore center Skye Conley posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Gray-New Gloucester.
Mtn. Valley 76, Telstar 21
RUMFORD — Sophomore guard Emily Laubauskas scored 10 points in a balanced attack as Rumford rolled to a 76-21 rout over Telstar in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Falcons (4-4) took a 39-13 lead at the midpoint. Abby Parent recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
Buckfield 57, Vinalhaven 41
VINALHAVEN — Kerseyanne Goyette drained a game-high 14 points to lead Buckfield to a 57-41 victory over Vinalhaven in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Bucks (4-4) kicked up some dust in the third quarter, using a 21-12 run to provide some distance. Alexis Bennett recorded 12 points, seven rebounds and six steals, while Naudia Wesley added 10 points, six rebounds and nine steals for Buckfield.
Oxford Hills 57, Brewer 35
BREWER — Anna Winslow scored 14 points to lead Oxford Hills to a 57-35 victory over Brewer in girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Vikings took a 30-13 halftime lead. Mikayla Morin contributed 13 points, while Erin Morton and Erin Eastman sand three treys each for another 18 points for Oxford Hills.
The Witches came up a bit dry on offense. Cassidy Smith notched a team-high 10 points on three treys and a free throw for Brewer in the losing effort.
