Farmington Elks New Year’s Eve dance
FARMINGTON — A New Year’s Eve dance at the Farmington Elks Lodge will feature Matt and the Barnburners.
A fabulous, fun, upbeat blues group, these folks always draw a fun dancing crowd.
Tickets are $15/single $25/couple, which includes a midnight champagne toast and breakfast served just after midnight. Tickets are sold at Madore’s Market, the Elks member lounge or by calling 778-6761. You must have a ticket or be on the reserve ticket list to enter.

Duplicate Bridge Club results
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 19. An eight-table Mitchell movement was enjoyed.
Finishing first in flight A N/S were Rosemarie Goodwin (Lewiston) and Fred Letourneau (Winslow); second, Dick Allen (New Gloucester) and Pete Cummings (South Paris); third, Mike Quinn (Otisfield) and Mike True (Auburn); fourth, Paul Mitnick (Vassalboro) and Paul Sherman (Winthrop), who also were first in flight B.
Finishing second in flight B N/S were Linda Goldsmith (Winthrop) and Barbara Vanderzanden (Waterford), who also were first in flight C; third, Nancy Farmer (Norway) and Mike Newsom (South Paris); fourth, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (South Paris), who also were second in flight C.
Finishing first in flight A E/W were Hazel Glazier (Norway) and Marta Clements (Woodstock); second, Cathy Sanderson (Waterford) and Carol Curran (Waterford), who also were first in flights B and C; third, Pat Quinn (Otisfield) and Luke Merry (Windham); fourth, Milt McKeen (Bridgton) and Jim Krainin (Naples), who also were second in flights B & C; third, Cynthia Clifford (Lewiston) and Claire Lyons (Lewiston); fourth, B.J. and Steve Cavicchi (Bridgton), who were third in flight C; fourth in C were Diane and Jim Fallon (Bridgton).
This was the annual Christmas party, which was a huge success thanks to everyone who brought goodies to share.

Scottish Rite Masons to meet Jan. 2
AUBURN — The Androscoggin Valley Scottish Rite Masons will meet Friday, Jan. 2, at the lodge hall at 1021 Turner St. for a stated meeting and program.
There will be a roast pork supper at 6:30 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. meeting and program.
A former student of the Portland Learning Center will be present to discuss how he was helped by attending the center. The Learning Center educates people with dyslexia and is funded primarily by donations from the Scottish Rite Masons.
The second part of the program will be a performance by the Wesleyan Singers from the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Auburn. All Masons, family and guests are welcomed to attend. Those attending the supper are asked to call 998-2301 so that we have a head count. There is no charge for the supper but donations will be accepted.
