Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is preparing for Christmas and New Year. The Festival of Trees will be in the Town Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 13. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Expect to see a lot of traditional Christmas characters along with wonderful songs and entertainment. I hope the community comes out to celebrate!
This time of year is also the time for the Chamber of Commerce Membership Renewal campaign. The renewal letters have been mailed out to existing members. If you would like to join as a new member, check out our new website at Rivervalleychamber.com.
You will see the new website is nice and sharp. We have added links about membership, business directory, Chamber Events and a link to the RVCC area guide. If you scroll down to the bottom, you will see a big blue button that says “Join Your Chamber.” Click on that button and you will be able to join immediately and pay by credit card or PayPal. The most exciting thing about the website will be an updated Community Calendar listing, in real time, events going on in the River Valley.
Now is the time to grow your business with the Chamber. Take advantage of the potential networking opportunities and turn 2015 into a banner year for your business.
Sincerely,
President
River Valley Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber was founded in 1912 with one goal in mind: to secure new industries, to enhance and develop industries already here, and to promote and develop the resources of the town and surrounding vicinities. By 1920, 125 businessmen were active members of the Chamber of Commerce. In 1995 the name of the Chamber changed from the Rumford Chamber of Commerce to the River Valley Chamber of Commerce to represent ten towns: Andover, Byron, Canton, Carthage, Dixfield, Hanover, Mexico, Peru, Roxbury, and Rumford.
We are nestled in the mountains of Western Maine where we pride ourselves in being a four-season destination. With our 10-town community area, you will find many interesting shops, places of interest as well as historic sites, beautiful lakes and mountains and small-town country charm and hospitality. The River Valley area is a great place to live, work and play. Whether you are planning on passing through or sitting a spell, we hope that you will make us your future vacation destination!
We believe in “Building a better tomorrow by investing in our communities today!”
The River Valley Chamber of Commerce invites you to explore the River Valley, a true four-season destination. Within our 10-town community, we have everything you are looking for — from hiking, biking and camping in the lush green forests to skiing, snowmobiling or ATVing on our endless scenic trails. Surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains and clear blue rivers and lakes, these 10 towns have something very special to offer. The River Valley is truly a four-season destination.
