LEWISTON — Since it first aired, the PBS Masterpiece program “Downton Abbey” has grown to become the highest-rated, most-watched PBS drama of all time. Fans of the show anxiously anticipate each new season for scandalous storylines, surprising cast member additions and more snide comments by the Dowager Countess.
After four twist-filled seasons, “Downton addicts” are more emotionally invested in the series than ever.
At noon Saturday, Dec. 20, the Lewiston Public Library will hold a Downton Abbey Tea and Talk as an opportunity for passionate Downton Abbey fans to meet up and share thoughts and feelings about the program. Tea and light snacks will be served while discussing what were your best or worst Downton moments, characters, plot twists, and deaths from the show.
There will be a vote for character fan favorite as well as some fun trivia. After the discussion, attendees will be warned before small spoilers from the upcoming season are presented. Wearing your best hat or tea time attire is optional but encouraged.
Those interested in attending should register with your name and phone number at the library’s second floor reference desk by Friday, Dec. 19. Space is limited. For more information, call 207-513-3135 or email lplreference@LewistonMaine.gov.
