HARTFORD — Walter E. Fish, 72, of Hartford, died Thursday, Dec. 4, in his home on Bear Pond surrounded by the love of his family.
Walter was a hardworking man whose love for his family was so great that it extended into the lives of those he touched. With a twinkle in his eye, he always embraced life and passed his zest for life to those who were in his path. He lived in each moment whether it was working in his garden, tubing with his grandkids, or watching a Red Sox game … focused, enjoying and savoring the moment.
Growing up in Turner, he was surrounded by brothers, cousins, uncles and aunts on a working farm filled with pies and homemade bread.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Darlene Turnage and husband, Mike, of New Jersey; his beloved grandchildren, Heather Richard and husband, Nicholas, Matthew Fish, Holly Holmes and husband, Jason, Dannielle Brown, Mary Turnage and Jesse Turnage; his great-grandchildren, Naomi and Liam Richard and Juliette Thomas. He also leaves behind his two brothers, Don Fish and wife, Gayle, and Al Fish and wife, Kathy; and sister-in-laws, Helen Nichols and Louise Moore.
He is predeceased by his parents, Forest M. and Yvonne E. Fish; and his daughter, Julia L. Fish.
There are too many important nieces, nephews, cousins, and co-workers to mention here, but you know his love and his loss.
