BRIDGTON — Gallery 302 in Bridgton will welcome Candace Maher as guest artist from Saturday, Dec. 6-31. An opening reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6.
After attending Concordia University in Montreal for art and music, Maher moved to New Hampshire in the late 1970s. She currently specializes in acrylics and colored pencils. The topography of New Hampshire and Maine provide the visual information for her landscape work while her still life paintings are derived from simple New England arrangements of ceramic bowls of fruit or vegetables and printed tablecloths.
She has recently exhibited her work at the Oxford House in Fryeburg, Maine, and the Snow Village Inn in Eaton, New Hampshire. Maher is a regular at the Artisans Show in Lovell, Maine every summer where she sells her calendars, notecards, tiles, paintings and prints.
The gallery is at 112 Main Street. Hours are noon-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Holiday hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily from Dec. 15-24.
