KITTERY (AP) — Police from New Hampshire and Maine caught up with a suspect who sped away from a traffic stop in North Hampton and abandoned his car across the border in Kittery.
A New Hampshire state trooper stopped a car on Interstate 95 north at about 8:20 Saturday night for lane change violations. As the trooper approached, the vehicle sped north.
Kittery police later located the abandoned car behind a truck stop. Maine and New Hampshire state police teamed up to look for the driver and found him in the lobby of a nearby motel.
Police said 28-year-old Darman Rosario of Lawrence, Mass., was charged as a fugitive from justice and is being held at the York County Jail in Maine.
It was not immediately known whether Rosario has a lawyer.
