MSAD 52 to offer CNA class soon

TURNER — MSAD 52 Adult Education currently has openings for its next CNA class starting early December. If you have been considering taking a step to change your future in the health care field, now is the time.

The CNA course is designed to provide the experience and skills necessary to become Maine State Certified.

Candidates must have an interest in the health care field, be dedicated, hard working, reliable and compassionate.

Dinner served to 100-plus seniors

RANGELEY — Many volunteers prepared, cooked and served food for the 31st annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd on Nov. 23.

A tremendous amount of planning and preparation goes into this event each year as well as many volunteers from Good Shepherd and the Rangeley community. Bob Wentworth of Rangeley IGA donated seven turkeys.

Lincoln Libby has taken part in this event since its inception in 1982 and even though he lives in the Portland area, he and now his family take time to participate each year.

The Rotary Interact Club and RLRS students cheerfully served more than 80 in-house and helped prepare 22 meals to be delivered. They were a tremendous help with the clean up as well.

Grange plans public ‘souper’ supper

FARMINGTON — Chester Greenwood Day luncheon, cookie walk, candy and white elephant tables will take place Saturday, Dec. 6, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street.

Cookie walk and tables will be available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal will include beef stew, fish and corn chowder, French onion soup and more, for $7. All are welcome.

Keep Me Warm Supper is Dec. 6

Strong United Methodist fair

STRONG — The annual Christmas fair at the Strong United Methodist Parish House will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6.

There will be baked goods, candy, gifts, wreaths, jewelry and Rada cutlery. Santa will visit at 10:30 and a luncheon will be held at 11:30.

First Saturday Sale at Cary Library

WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library’s First Saturday Book Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

This is also the day of the “Wayne Stroll.” While you are “strolling” through Wayne, stop by the Williams House. There will be a Kinkade Hawthorne Village, bigger than the town of Wayne, (nine buildings) on display, and for sale, piece by piece.

Snowmobile Club meeting, swap

NEW VINEYARD — New Vineyard North Snowmobile Club will hold its monthly meeting and annual Yankee Gift Swap and tasting party on Sunday, Dec. 7.

The group is looking for new members, and the club welcomes all snowmobilers to their monthly meetings which are held the first Sunday of each month at Smith Hall during the season. By joining, you will become a member of the Maine Snowmobile Association and be covered by a $3,500 insurance policy as will other members of your family. Some insurance companies also offer discounts to club members.

Passport Dinner is Dec. 12

WILTON — The next Passport Dinner at Wilson Grange No. 321 will focus on Home for the Holidays with foods often enjoyed during the holiday season. The meal will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. A holiday-themed movie will be shown upstairs in the meeting hall following the meal.
