MECHANIC FALLS — Students at Elm Street School are among the top collectors of snack bags in The Hain Celestial Group Snack Bag Brigade, a free, national recycling program created by The Hain Celestial Group, Inc.  and TerraCycle.

By collecting used chip and snack bags, Elm Street School has kept more than 10,000 units of traditionally non-recyclable bags out of landfills. Additionally, for each unit collected, they have earned points redeemable for gifts or cash donations to the school or charity of their choice.

“The students of Elm Street School are an excellent example of a group of people that is truly making an impact on how our society approaches the issue of waste,” said TerraCycle CEO Tom Szaky. “I am thrilled to reward them for their impressive efforts.”
