CANTON —  Michael and Kelly Newton of Buckfield are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Tristen Janelle Newton of Canton, to Nicholas Sherwood Pingree of Canton, son of Carol Pingree and significant other Robert DeMaio of Newtonville, Mass., and Tim and Laura Pingree of Mexico.

Miss Newton is a 2009 graduate of Buckfield Junior-Senior High School and a 2014 honors graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is currently employed at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston as a labor and delivery nurse.

Mr. Pingree is a 2007 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2009 Maine Machine scholarship graduate of Central Maine Community College with a degree in machine tool technology. He is currently working as a machinist at Maine Machine in South Paris.

The wedding will be held on Sept. 26, 2015, at Sunday River Ski Resort.
