John Visco of Durham works on his train layout of lower Lewiston at the Great Falls Model Railroad Club in Auburn on Thursday. Visco and other members of the club are getting ready for the fifth annual ExTRAINaganza, which starts Saturday. The club opens the doors to two floors of train layouts, gingerbread men decorating, raffles, face painting and more over the next two weekends. “I was given a train set when I was 5 years old,” Visco said. His layout depicts lower Main and Lincoln streets as they were in the 1950s. Miniature versions of the Bates Mill No. 5, the canal system and the Wiseman Bridge have been built by Visco. “It’s a lot of fun to work on,” he said. Information about ExTRAINaganza can be found at www.greatfallsmodelrrclub.org.
