AUGUSTA (AP) — A head-on collision in Augusta has hospitalized two people.

The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/14FhQiw ) reported two women were removed from cars after the Tuesday morning collision. One was taken to a hospital by helicopter and the other by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Police say a snow squall prevented a second helicopter from landing at the scene.

The crash shut down a section of road for more than 90 minutes so emergency personnel could respond. It reopened late Tuesday morning. State police are reconstructing the accident scene.
