1930 – 2014

LEWISTON — Alfreda T. Cote, 84, a lifelong resident of Dixfield, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Nov. 16, at Russell Park Manor, with her family by her side.

She was born on Hall Hill in Dixfield on Aug. 28, 1930, the daughter of Willard and Nathalie (Fish) Tyler, and attended Dixfield schools.

Alfreda worked at Stowell McGregor Mill for several years. She was a former Girl Scout leader; a member of Dixfield Congregational Church, the choir and a Sunday school teacher; and a member of Dixfield Social Club.

She enjoyed knitting, braiding rugs, ceramics, flower gardens and baking for all occasions.

She was married in Rumford on Sept. 20, 1946, to Wilbur R. Cote.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Cote and wife, Jean, of Hollis Center; granddaughter, Carrie Walker and her husband, Bryan, and their children, Ryan, Kaitlyn and Emma, of Hollis Center; grandson, Christopher Cote and his wife, Aerie, and their daughter, Veronica, of Buxton; granddaughter, Melissa Cote, of Buxton; grandson, Travis Cote and his wife, Lauren, of Standish; son, Roland Cote and wife, Kathy, of Readfield; granddaughter, Theresa Boynton and her husband, Robert, and their children, Scott and Sydney, of Gray; and granddaughter, Michelle Brzoza and her husband, Joe, and their children, David and Genevieve, of Essex Junction, Vt.

Predeceasing her were husband, Wilbur, and three brothers, Mike, Donnie and Robert Tyler.
