BETHEL (AP) — Authorities say one man is dead after an all-terrain vehicle rolled over in Bethel.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office says the victim of the accident at about 2 p.m. Sunday was a 42-year-old man from New Hampshire, but authorities did not immediately make his name public.

He was not wearing a helmet.

Police tell WGME-TV (http://bit.ly/1EUcjS5 ) that a passer-by found the ATV and the man near the entrance to a trail and notified police. The victim was taken to Rumford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He was alone on the ATV and no other vehicles were involved.

The death is under investigation.
