NORWAY — Oxford Hills SCORE will present a free workshop, “Small Business Inventory Management,” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Norway Town Office on 19 Danforth St.
The workshop will review what is included in inventory for a manufacturing or retail business, how to cost the inventory so products are properly priced and best practices for safeguarding inventory from theft. Also to be discussed are methods to make sure that there is sufficient inventory on hand, as well as using a manual system to record inventory or using software to do inventory count requirements as a small business. This workshop will also provide valuable information on the “Just in Time” method of inventory management.
The instructor will be Anthony Tenneson, an associate academic dean at Kaplan University who has an master’s degree in accounting and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. His experience includes full-time instruction in accounting at Kaplan for eight years, ownership of AAT Accounting Services for six years and CFO of the Merrill Companies for 32 years. He is a member of the National Society of Accountants and the National Association of Tax Preparers.
