BETHEL — The Western Mountains Senior College program titled To Your Health will hold a lecture from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Bethel Congregational Church.
The October lecture focused on teaching residents how to recognize the 10 signs of Alzheimer’s disease; the Nov. 6 lecture will teach about other types of dementia and their symptoms. It is titled “The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.”
Rosabelle Tifft, chairman of the program, said during the summer she and other members reviewed evaluations from residents and discovered there was an interest in Alzheimer’s or one of the related dementias.
“We decided to hold a couple of different programs for residents, just in case anybody missed the first one or wanted to get more information on the subject,” Tifft said.
The program is free and open to the public.
Since fall 2006, the Western Mountains Senior College has hosted 59 programs with over 1,300 residents attending, Tifft said.
