LEWISTON — Lewiston Youth Advisory Council presents the kickoff to its public image campaign at 2:30 p.m. in City Hall. This is an effort to get residents to show their love for Lewiston.
AUBURN — City Council meeting workshop, 6 p.m., in Auburn Hall. Meeting begins with a 30-minute icebreaking discussion led by City Manager Clinton Deschene, followed by briefings on council policy decisions and transitioning to a new city manager.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
AUBURN — Neighborhood meeting to discuss safety, job opportunities, housing, public improvements and social services at 7 p.m. at Rolly’s Diner, 87 Mill St. The meeting is sponsored by the city of Auburn.
Thursday, Oct. 30
Deadline for Maine residents to request an absentee ballot for the Nov. 4 election. Residents can request an absentee ballot at their municipal clerk’s office or fill out the electronic form at the Maine secretary of state’s website, www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl
Friday, Oct. 31
Happy Halloween!
AUBURN — New Auburn’s “Hello-Ween,” sponsored by the United New Auburn Association, 1 to 3 p.m., beginning at Rolly’s Diner. New Auburn businesses will be handing out treats, with a “Spooky Cemetery” and a Haunted House at the Boys & Girls Club. Everyone — whether in costume or not — is welcome to participate in this free event.
AUBURN — Fright Fest, 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Hasty Community Center, 48 Pettengill Park Road. Fright Fest is a free event for children grades pre-K to 6, featuring games, face painting, a candy corn-guessing jar, parade of costumes, prizes and refreshments.
