LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library is celebrating its 60th year in the same location at 56 Main St.

The public is invited to attend the anniversary open house at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30. Bring your memories and share how the library has changed. Refreshments and speeches will be served.

The library’s book discussion, Refreshing the Whodunit, continues with the next title “A Cold Day for Murder,” by Dana Stabenow on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the new time of 3 to 5 p.m. Books are available at the library.

Readers do not have to attend all the sessions to participate in this enjoyable series learning about the author, sharing your opinions, and seeing the stories through new eyes.

Work has begun on the library’s handicapped parking area. Due to a very wet summer, work had been delayed.

The library will host a Story Time Spooktacular at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Come in costume (or not) and be ready for some Halloween fun. There will be scary stories, tricks and treats for everyone.

Preschool Story Time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and Family Story Time is every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. (for older children and those who can’t make Wednesdays).

Staff members Brianna Rush and Nick Berry take turns reading stories and organizing crafts on a wide variety of themes. If you have a request for a theme or activity, just let Rush or Berry know.
