RANGELEY — The second book in a series on Narrow Gauge railroads in Maine has just been released. Author Guy Rioux has compiled a new comprehensive history of the Sandy River Railroad titled ”

His first book debuted last year on the Phillips and Rangeley Railroad (P&R) and was similarly titled except the “next stop” was Rangeley,

The Sandy River Railroad began in Farmington and ran to Phillips in 1879, thus predating the P&R into Rangeley.

As in the first book, Rioux has written this volume with extensively detailed historical context including maps, documents, and even a timeline of named locations along the Sandy River.
