BATH – Called the world’s greatest novelty band, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks will be at the Chocolate Church Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, bringing their blend of western swing, Django, jazz and blues that has earned them labels ranging from “outlaw country” to “cool jazz folk.”
Hicks is widely acknowledged as one of the defining figures in American roots music. He entered the music world as a drummer with the seminal 1960s San Francisco rock band, The Charlatans. With the formation of his own band, he moved through the ’60s and ’70s touring the world and appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine three times.
Adren Reju, a Woodstock-based singer and songwriter with her own brand of Indie-folk-retro-rock music, will be the opening act.
Tickets, available at www.chocolatechurcharts.com or 207-442-8455, are $25 in advance and $28 at the door.
