WILTON — Physical therapists Annie Dyer, DPT, Lauren Hebert, DPT, and athletic trainer Aaron Perreault, ATC, of SmartCare Physical Therapy in Dixfield, announce they are opening a new physical therapy clinic Nov. 15 on Route 2 in Wilton.
SmartCare is an outpatient physical therapy practice specializing in musculo-skeletal pain problems such as back and neck pain, tendonitis and arthritis, sports and work injury, headache and TMJ, vertigo and balance problems. The new clinic will be at 411 U.S. Route 2 East in Wilton, across from Hayden Shoe.
SmartCare was founded in 1993 in Dixfield by Lauren Hebert, DPT. Hebert lectures internationally and has authored numerous publications and journal articles. He was recently selected by the American Physical Therapy Association to author a definitive guide for physical therapists on workplace injury management and prevention.
After 40 years of professional experience, Hebert is now transferring management of SmartCare to Dyer, DPT, of Farmington, and will continue to provide care to SmartCare’s patients with Dyer and Perreault.
Dyer has worked with Hebert at SmartCare for several years. She holds a doctor of physical therapy degree from Husson University. Dyer started at SmartCare as a student of Hebert, then was immediately hired upon graduation. She is now moving into management of the business. She will oversee clinics in Wilton and Dixfield as Hebert continues to provide care to his patients and develop workplace injury prevention programs.
The SmartCare team also includes certified athletic trainer Perreault of Dixfield. He is the trainer for RSU 10 at Dirigo, Mountain Valley and Buckfield schools. He has worked at SmartCare for nearly 15 years, providing care to competitive sports, recreational, and workplace athletes in collaboration with the physical therapists. Sports medicine ATC consultations will be available at the Wilton office.
SmartCare will hold an open house for the public in early November. People can examine the website www.smartcarept.com, as well as go to the Facebook page for Smartcare Physical Therapy to learn more.
