LIVERMORE FALLS — Christmas lights and lighted pumpkins will mark the path down Foundry Road during the Pumpkin Walk on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26.
Some pop-up Halloween decorations will enhance the walk. People who are unable to walk the path can drive down the road and see the displays. Foundry Road begins behind the Town Office and goes past the Recreation Field.
More than 1,000 people attended the Pumpkin Walk last year, and they are hoping for more this year, Janice Sweeney said.
She is the manager of the event sponsor, Hillside Sports Club in Jay.
“We’re going to have pumpkin carving from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Livermore Falls Fire Station,” she said.
If people have old Halloween decorations. Christmas decorations or extra pumpkins, they can drop them off Saturday at the Fire Station, located on Park Street/Route 133.
People can also call the club at 897-5341 for more information. If individuals want to drop the items off earlier than Saturday, they can call ahead to the club to see if someone will be there.
The walk will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. each night.
There is no cost for the walk or for the refreshments of mulled cider, cold cider, hot chocolate, baked goods and popcorn.
More than 200 pumpkins lit up the route last year, and they stretched halfway to the ball field at the Recreation Field. Organizers are hoping to beat that number this year, Sweeney said.
