State Police say a Harrison man is free on bail after he was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography.
Wayne Pike, 37, was charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone younger than 12, according to a statement by Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland. He was arrested 582 Bolsters Mills Road home in Harrison.
The State Police’s Computer Crimes Unit received information that led them to search Pike’s house, seize Pike’s computer and find thousands of files and images of infants and toddlers being sexually abused, according to the statement. None of the victims are believed to be from Maine.
Pike’s bail stipulations prohibit him for having contact with anyone younger than 18.
Pike works in construction while living at his home with his wife and two young children.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 19 in Cumberland County Superior Court.
