TURNER — The Leavitt air show continued Saturday in another one-sided Class C West football victory.

Levi Craig threw five touchdown passes — four to Gabe Seeley — and ran for another score in a 58-14 Homecoming rout of Lake Region at Libby Field.

It was the third consecutive win for the Hornets (4-1). Craig, a junior and first-year starter, has thrown 21 TD passes in five games.

“We were glad to know that we can still throw the ball in wet weather,” Leavitt coach Mike Hathaway said.

The Hornets left no doubt about that. Craig connected with Seeley for scores of 40 and 15 yards in the first quarter and 39 and 37 yards in the second.

Max Green added a 15-yard scoring grab in the opening stanza to give Leavitt a 22-0 lead after one. Seeley’s third and fourth trips to the end zone made it 36-0 at the half.

“They were playing a pretty loose coverage, so we had to go underneath quite a bit,” Hathaway said.

Craig (14-for-17, 271 yards passing, plus 50 yards rushing) converted on a quarterback sneak for a a 44-0 lead early in the third before Lake Region strung together back-to-back scores.

Kyle DeSouza scored from 6 yards out for the Lakers (1-4). Lexus Rodriguez punched in from 1 yard.

“We played pretty well defensively up to that point, but we went into a little bit of a lull there,” Hathaway said.

Isiah Trask snapped Leavitt out of that funk with a 70-yard kick return for a TD.

D’Andre James capped the scoring with a 15-yard rush.

Leavitt is still in the hunt for playoff home field advantage, with games against Wells and Spruce Mountain ending the regular season. But first things first.

“Mountain Valley next week will be a big one for us. They’ve been a little stronger than the teams we’ve been facing,” Hathaway said.
