LISBON — Molly Nicholson scored in the second overtime Wednesday, lifting Lisbon to a 2-1 MVC field hockey win over stubborn Mountain Valley.
Kate Philbrick gave the Greyhounds (9-1) the lead in the first half. Chelsea Allison pulled the Falcons (4-6-1) with 5:21 remaining in regulation.
Michaela Bedell notched an assist for Lisbon, which struggled to solve Kassie Thibodeau (27 saves) all afternoon. Stevie Charest made six stops in the Greyhounds’ cage.
Winthrop 4, St. Dom’s 1
AUBURN — Emily Molino scored all four goals for Winthrop, showing the way to a 4-1 MVC field hockey win Wednesday over St. Dom’s.
Kinli Dibiase-Patenaude assisted two goals for the Ramblers (5-3-2). Corinna Coulton of Winthrop and Taylor Bergeron of St. Dom’s (2-8-1) each made six saves.
Logan Ronan’s goal only 64 seconds into the game gave the Saints a 1-0 lead. Lexi Kesaris had the assist.
Oak Hill 5, Hall-Dale 0
LITCHFIELD — Sadie Goulet tallied three goals and Hayley Marshall contributed a pair Wednesday, steering undefeated Oak Hill to a 5-0 MVC field hockey shutout of Hall-Dale.
Marshall and Kayla Veilleux each set up two goals for the Raiders (11-0), who did not allow a shot on goal. Molly French kicked away 39 shots for the Bulldogs (1-10).
Poland 6, Gray-NG 0
GRAY — Amanda Dube’s hat trick pushed Poland to a 6-0 WMC field hockey win over rival Gray-New Gloucester.
Mary Everett, Lilia Conway and Emily Gibson added goals for the Knights (7-3).
Boys’ Soccer
Mtn. Valley 4, Oak Hill 1
RUMFORD — Four different players scored for unbeaten Mountain Valley in a 4-1 MVC boys’ soccer triumph over Oak Hill.
Tucker Phelps, Rasmus Soegaard, Jon Adley and Eduardo Esteban each found the net for the Falcons (8-0-1). Andrew Klaft connected for the Raiders (1-6).
Felix Promm and Conner Woods registered Mountain Valley assists. Kyle Field was outstanding in net for the Raiders with 27 saves. Jacob Beauchesne turned away five shots for the Falcons.
Mt. Abram 1, Telstar 0
SALEM — Tristen Dyer made five saves, including a penalty kick, to protect Mt. Abram’s 1-0 shutout of pesky Telstar in MVC boys’ soccer.
Hunter York’s goal in the second minute held up as the game-winner for the Roadrunners (7-1). Bryson Walker assisted.
Kellen True made 13 saves for the Rebels (0-9-1).
Buckfield 4, Valley 0
BINGHAM — Brian Casey scored twice in the first 15 minutes of the game Wednesday, and Buckfield bolted to a 4-0 EWC boys’ soccer win over Valley.
Jon Randolph and Matt Beaucage added second-half goals for Buckfield (7-2). Randolph, Scott Wheeler and Calvin Downey each collected an assist.
Downey made three saves for Buckfield. Dillon Beane snuffed out 22 shots for the Cavaliers (1-8).
Girls’ Soccer
Buckfield 7, Valley 1
BINGHAM — Bri Damon flooded the net with four goals and Naudia Wesley added three more Wednesday, bolstering Buckfield in a 7-1 EWC girls’ soccer rout of Valley.
Wesley also had an assist for the Bucks (5-2-1). Kali Litchfield chipped in two helpers.
Kennedy Savoy scored the goal for Valley (0-8). The Cavaliers’ Samantha West made 18 saves. Kersey Goyette notched nine for Buckfield.
Men’s Soccer
SMCC 2, CMCC 1
SOUTH PORTLAND — Connor Beebe and Patrick Duddy each scored for Southern Maine Community College in a 2-1 men’s soccer win Wednesday over Central Maine Community College.
Adan Abo scored for CMCC (1-5) to cut the lead in half with 25 minutes remaining. Dustin Sullivan made three saves for the Mustangs.
Women’s Soccer
SMCC 8, CMCC 0
SOUTH PORTLAND — Danielle McCusker and Katy Cyr each scored a hat trick for Southern Maine Community College in an 8-0 women’s soccer win over Central Maine Community College.
Jasmine Hatch made 14 saves for CMCC. The Mustangs received game offensive efforts from Cassie Regner, Rebecca Wolinski, Kayla Angelico and Amber Pritchard and a solid defensive contribution from Bayley Caouette.
