Aging Well Living Well Expo is Friday
BETHEL — The seventh annual Aging Well Living Well Expo presented by the nonprofit SeniorsPlus will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the Grand Summit Hotel and Conference Center at Sunday River.
The expo features a keynote address by Rep. Mark Eves, Maine Speaker of the House, a silent auction, workshops and other programs.

Thrifty Gift Shop fall yard sale
PARIS — The Thrifty Gift Shop will hold its fall yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4, at 659 Park St.
There will be fall clothing, toys, household items and more.
All proceeds will benefit the Families in Crisis Task Force food pantry.

Turkey supper at West Parish church
BETHEL — A public turkey supper with all the fixings and homemade pies will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at West Parish Congregational Church.

Spaghetti supper to benefit Gravel family
MECHANIC FALLS — A benefit spaghetti supper for Gary and Michelle (Ballard) Gravel will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at American Legion Post 150.
Gary has been in treatment for stage IV lymphoma and throat cancer and out of work for the last year.
Cost is $5 per adult and $3 for children 12 and under. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Meal includes bread, salad, spaghetti, meatballs, dessert and a drink.
Flagship Cinemas movie books will be on sale, offering $200 worth of savings for only $25.

Naturalist to lead hike up Step Falls
NEWRY — On Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m., the Mahoosuc Land Trust is having a hike up Step Falls with naturalist Dr. Roger Zimmerman to explore the natural landscape.
Meet at the trailhead in the parking area, 8 miles north of the Route 2 and Route 26 intersection in Newry. The hike is approximately one mile and will focus on “what’s there” and “how did it get there”? Participants should wear sturdy footwear and bring appropriate weather gear, water and snack.
Carpooling is encouraged to avoid roadside parking. Do not park on private property.
Rummage sale at First Universalist
PARIS — A rummage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 4, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St.
Clothes, books, fabric, linens, dishes, shoes, antiques and white elephant items will be for sale.
A bag sale will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $1 per large plastic bag.
Legion dances feature Jones Dance Band

Twin Town Nature Club plans trip

Socrates Cafe planned for Oct. 6

HARRISON — The Senior Socials with lunch are starting up again in Harrison beginning Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Community Room next to the fire station beginning at 11 a.m. and finishing up at 1 p.m.
Stop by to play word games, guess the amount of candy in the wine glass, receive a ticket for the door prize, play bingo and enjoy homemade macaroni and cheese, hot dog, apple streusel (made special by White Wulff Farm in Harrison) and cranberry juice, coffee or tea. The cost is $3.

NORWAY — A cancer support group for women is offered the first Tuesday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Stephens Memorial Specialty Clinic, 199 Main St. Note the day change moving forward to the first Tuesday of the month.
The group is open to any woman who has experienced a cancer diagnosis, past or present. Drop in and stay for as long as you can. Bring a brown bag lunch or a snack.

OXFORD — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting in the Oxford and Otisfield area.

Uptown Cruizahs plan spaghetti supper
OXFORD — The Uptown Cruizahs Car Club of Oxford will host a benefit spaghetti supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Anderson-Staples Post 112 American Legion Hall on King Street.
The proceeds will go toward funeral and medical expenses for Keith Swan of Bryant Pond, a long-time member, who passed away suddenly on Sept. 11.
The menu will consist of spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, homemade desserts and beverages. The cost will be $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and no charge for under 5 years.

New caregiver support group
WEST PARIS — SeniorsPlus, the Area Agency on Aging, is forming a new Alzheimer’s or dementia caregiver support group in the meeting room at the West Paris Town Office on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The group will give caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s or other dementias a chance to learn from each other and gain support from meeting with other caregivers.
The support group will be held regularly on the second Tuesday of the month. It is free and open to the public.
