PARIS — Tyus Ripley converted a pass from Jake Beauchesne with 12:22 left in the contest to give Oxford Hills a 3-2 win over Lawrence in boys’ soccer Thursday.
Joey Gallant led the Vikings (2-4) with two goals, while Andrew Fleming added an assist. Nick Blombrth and Zoli Nagi each tallied for the Bulldogs (1-3-1).
Beauchesne also handled netkeeping duties for Oxford Hills, making four saves in the time he served. Ben Copeland deflected seven shots for Lawrence.
Mt. Abram 3, Lisbon 1
SALEM — Trevor Brackley led a trio of players to tally first-half goals as Mt. Abram hustled to a 3-1 victory over Lisbon in a hard-fought MVC boys’ soccer tilt Thursday.
Henry Kearing and Courtland Talmage also tallied for the Roadrunners (5-1) to complete the scoring. Tristen Dyer made seven saves, including a key deflection with four minutes remaining in regulation.
Austin Fournier scored for the Greyhounds (5-2) off a direct kick, while Ryley Austin turned aside 10 shots between the posts.
Field hockey
Spruce Mountain 8, Morse 0
JAY — Nicole Hamblin and Morgan Fournier netted two goals each to lead Spruce Mountain to a 8-0 rout over Morse in an MVC field hockey tilt Thursday.
Caryn True, Kaylee Leclerc, Alexis Bessey and Emily Hartford also tallied for the undefeated Phoenix (8-0) to complete the scoring.
Grace Ryan made six saves to notch the shutout, while Madeline Baker turned aside 11 shots for the struggling Shipbuilders (0-8).
Messalonskee 5, Edward Little 1
OAKLAND — Livia Dexter turned in a hat trick and Emily Hogan assisted on all three of Dexter’s goals as Messalonskee rolled over Edward Little with a 5-1 victory in a field hockey game Thursday.
By halftime, the Eagles (9-1) built a 3-1 lead and kept the Red Eddies (4-4-1) scoreless in the second half.
Allison Corbett and Allison Leighton each scored a goal for the Eagles.
For the Red Eddies, Marisa Carter scored on Tyme Finnerty assist in the first half.
Edward Little goalie Danica Nadeau made 44 saves on 50 Messalonskee shots.
Mt. Ararat 3, Lewiston 2 (2OT)
TOPSHAM — Madison Alexander scored her second goal of game in double overtime to give Mt. Ararat a 3-2 victory over Lewiston in field hockey action.
Kasey Talarico scored both goals for the Blue Devils, with Avery Gagnon assisting on the first goal and Tamica Connor notching an assist on the second.
Alana Weaver also tallied for Mt. Ararat.
Kaylyn Labonte made 15 saves for Lewiston as both teams are 1-7 on the season.
Skowhegan 5, Oxford Hills 0
SKOWHEGAN — Renee Wright netted an impressive four goals Thursday as powerhouse Skowhegan rolled to a 5-0 victory over Oxford Hills.
Lauren Leblanc also tallied for the Indians (8-1) to complete the scoring.
Kelsey Thaker needed only three saves to notch the shutout, while veteran keeper Shannon Fillebrown deflected 20 of 25 shots for the Vikings (5-4).
Girls’ soccer
Hampden 2, Mt. Blue 0
FARMINGTON — Hampden managed to score a goal in each half Thursday and pulled off a 2-0 win over Mt. Blue in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup.
Emily Colter and Ashley Mahoney both tallied for the Broncos (4-1-1) in a solid effort. Eliza Eastman made nine saves for Hampden, while Abbie Schanz deflected 12 shots for the Cougars (2-3-2).
Falmouth 5, Poland 0
FALMOUTH — Tyler Spence recorded a hat trick Thursday as Falmouth raced away to a 5-0 rout over Poland in a WMC matchup.
Emma England and Marcy Kittredge also tallied for the Yachtsmen (4-2-2) to complete the scoring.
Adelaide Cooke and Kathryn Caldwell combined efforts in net yet needed no saves to notch the shutout. Erin Brewer turned aside 11 shots for the Knights (1-5-1).
