TURNER — Tyler Roux converted a pass from Evan Clark with 27 minutes left in regulation to give Leavitt a 1-0 victory over Nokomis in a KVAC boys’ soccer tilt Tuesday.
Ben Fullerton made four saves to notch the shutout, while Nick Bolliger deflected 13 shots between the posts for Nokomis (2-4).
Lewiston 6, Mt. Blue 1
FARMINGTON — Gage Cote led a group of five players to register goals as Lewiston overpowered Mt. Blue 6-1 in another KVAC boys’ soccer contest Tuesday.
Cote led the Blue Devils (6-0) with two goals, while Abdi Sharif, Mahamud Abukar, Atilla Toth and Mohamed Musse also tallied to complete the scoring. Drew Parsons scored for the Cougars (2-3-1) in the second frame.
Austin Wing and Tom Jumper combined to record five saves for Lewiston, while Colton Lawrence deflected seven shots for Mt. Blue.
Poland 3, Sacopee Valley 0
POLAND — Kyle Radziszewski recorded a pair of goals and an assist as Poland coasted to a 3-0 victory over Sacopee Valley in WMC boys’ soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Patrick Kuklinski headed in the first goal just 22 seconds into the second half on a corner kick from Radziszewski. Derek Michaud assisted on the Knight’s (3-2-1) final goal.
Goalie Mike Pingree made four saves for the Hawks (2-2-1), while goalie Zack Lowe stopped three to earn the win in net for Poland.
Field hockey
Leavitt 2, Erskine 0
TURNER — After battling through a scoreless first half, Leavitt found the net twice to post a 2-0 victory over Erskine in a mid-season KVAC field hockey tilt Tuesday.
Sadie Royer and Kaitlyn Leclerc both tallied for the Hornets (5-2-1), while Emma Martineau and Chantel Eells were credited with assists.
Ashley Kelley made seven saves to notch the shutout, while Kelby Leary turned aside one shot for Erskine (4-3-1).
Mount View 3, Spruce Mtn. 2 (OT)
THORNDIKE — Kersey Boulay found the net with 4:50 left in overtime Tuesday as Mount View edged Spruce Mountain, 3-2, in a hard-fought MVC field hockey tilt.
Risa Fox and Reanna Boulay also tallied for the Mustangs (4-2-2) to complete the scoring. Emily Hogan and Alexis Bessey tallied for the Phoenix (5-2-0) in a solid effort.
Dinah Bilodeau made nine saves for Mount View, while veteran keeper Grace Ryan turned aside seven shots for Spruce Mountain.
Skowhegan 6, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON — Renee Wright scored a hat trick as Skowhegan toppled Lewiston 6-0 in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.
The Indians (6-1) took a 4-0 halftime lead.
Goalie Kaylynn Labonte was busy in goal for the Blue Devils (1-6), making 42 saves in the losing effort.
Edward Little 3, Mt. Ararat 0
AUBURN — Jasmine Wyman scored the first goal and eventual clincher as Edward Little spun a 3-0 victory over Mt. Ararat in field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.
Brook Lever closed out the scoring with an unassisted tally and recorded a pair of assists for the Red Eddies (4-3-1), who led 2-0 at the midpoint.
Goalie Hayley Frizzle made 29 saves for the Eagles (0-8), while goalie Danica Nadeau earned the win in net for Edward Little.
Girls’ soccer
Sacopee Valley 2, Poland 1 (OT)
SOUTH HIRAM — Abby Hughes fired a shot into the net with 2:11 left in overtime Tuesday to give Sacopee Valley a 2-1 win over Poland in a girls’ soccer tilt.
Jade Jordan also tallied for the undefeated Hawks (6-0) to complete the scoring. Katriana Pratt gave the Knights (1-4-1) a lone goal in the second frame.
Madison Day made three saves for Sacopee Valley, while Haley Whitworth turned aside 11 shots for Poland.
Nokomis 1, Leavitt 0
NEWPORT — Anna Smestad scored with 29 minutes left in the first half for Nokomis and the Warriors held on for a 1-0 victory over Leavitt in KVAC girls’ soccer action. Despite being outshot, Nokomis’ defense was up to the task including a late rally by the Hornets in the final minutes.
Leavitt keeper Angela Daigle made six saves on the day in the loss.
Spruce Mtn. 1, MCI 0
JAY — Vanese Barnes connected on a hard shot from just outside the 18 to lift Spruce Mountain to a 1-0 triumph over MCI in girls’ soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Goalie Emily Keene started the game for the Pheonix (2-3-1), but injured her knee early in the second half. She returned 15 minutes later to earn the win in net with eight saves for Spruce Mountain.
Huskies (3-3) goalie Gabbi Ryles made seven saves in the losing effort.
Edward Little 2, Brunswick 1
AUBURN — Olivia Paione nailed the game-winning goal on a corner kick as Edward Little locked up a 2-1 victory over Brunswick in KVAC girls’ soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Eddies (5-0-1) led 2-0 at the half. Lauren Berube netted an unassisted tally from 18 yards out for Edward Little’s first goal.
Kira Wolpow scored the Dragons’ only goal in the losing effort.
