LIVERMORE FALLS — It is time to celebrate fall at the annual Apple Pumpkin Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Livermore Falls Recreation Field.
There will be plenty of events for people of all ages.
The Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce planned lots of music, fun and food. There will be a variety of vendors and craft artisans, agricultural products, historical and educational displays, seasonal decorations, antique tractors and raffles.
New this year is a pumpkin pie eating contest sponsored by the Livermore Falls Downtown Betterment Group. Another new activity is a dunk tank.
The tiger slide, bounce house and climbing wall will return.
The field is located behind the Town Office on Foundry Road. Traffic on the road will be one-way during the event.
Community organizations have also planned activities in the town to coincide with the festival.
A book giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Treat Memorial Library, at 56 Main St., Livermore Falls.
There will also be tours of Maine’s Paper and Heritage Museum and a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, located at 22 Church St., in Livermore Falls. Visitors will be able to learn about the paper-making industry through two centuries.
