FREEPORT — Dreams Unlimited’s Michael Perry will present a slide show adventure to Quebec’s beautiful Gaspe Peninsula, where the historic St. Lawrence River enters into the Gulf of St. Lawrence, from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at L.L.Bean Flagship Store, 95 Main St. See the gannet rookery on Bonaventure Island, kayak through the great arch of Perce Rock, explore the exposed seaside trails and limestone cliffs of Forillon National Park, and venture inland to the high peaks region of Parc de la Gaspesie.
The French tradition is still strong in the Gaspe. Small fishing villages dot the coastline dominated by large white church steeples on the hillsides. Fish dry in the sun on weathered drying racks, and cod tongues are the local delicacy. All bounty comes from the sea in this timeless area of rare beauty.
Then the slide show will head westward to Quebec City, exploring from the Plains of Abraham to the imposing Chateau Frontenac. End with slides of spectacular Montmorency Falls, nearly 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls.
