RANGELEY — The search for a new town manager is on again after a recent choice backed out after four days on the job.
Select Board Chairman Dave Burgess said candidate Jeff Grossman was hired last Thursday, but quit on Monday.
Burgess said the selectmen and Grossman mutually agreed that it was not a good match.
“It’s a hard job, because so many towns are searching for managers right now,” Burgess said.
He added that more details will be coming about the hire and resignation after the board meets Wednesday night in executive session to discuss the situation.
Former Town Manager Tiki White announced her imminent resignation last summer pending the birth of her first child. Fire Chief Tim Pellerin was chosen as interim town manager to fill in between White’s departure and the choice of a permanent replacement.
