AUGUSTA — Pro-Life Education Association Annual Brunch will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at The Senator Inn & Conference Center, 284 Western Ave.

Keynote speaker will be Rev. Steven Craft, executive director of Christian Citizenship Ministries, Inc., a motivational/ inspirational speaker and author on issues involving religion, race, youth and sexual purity. Craft is also certified as a facilitator for Bullies2Buddies Program: How to Turn Enemies into Friends.

Cost is $15 per person, which includes full breakfast buffet.

Radical Gratitude, with Will Pye

Maine Boys to Men tournament

YARMOUTH — Maine Boys to Men will partner with The Edge Academy to host its second annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 29. All proceeds will benefit youth in Maine.

Maine Boys to Men is nonprofit organization that works to reduce interpersonal violence by helping to develop emotionally healthy boys and men who accept and value themselves, others and the communities they live in.

The Edge Academy based in Portland offers instructional softball and baseball lessons and related opportunities for Maine youth.

Low-interest loans for farms

BANGOR — The U.S. Department of Agriculture Maine Farm Service Agency has announced that farmers and ranchers still have time to apply for low interest 2014 loans available through FSA’s direct farm ownership program. The deadline to submit applications is Sept. 30.

Eligible producers can borrow up to $300,000 in direct farm ownership loans to buy or enlarge a farm, construct new farm buildings or improve structures, pay closing costs, or promote soil and water conservation and protection. The interest rate on select loans can be as low as 1.5 percent with up to 40 years to repay.

Crafters wanted for Clover fair

AUBURN — Clover Health Care is searching for new crafters to participate in its annual Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.

Tables are $20 if secured before October and $25 thereafter. Space is limited so interested parties are encouraged to call early.

The fair is in need of craftspeople specializing in re-crafted vintage items, dolls, photography, pottery, wood products and specialty food items including jams, jellies, salsas and pickles.

Grants for land preservation

PORTLAND/ELLSWORTH— The Fund for Maine Land Conservation of the Maine Community Foundation seeks grant proposals to support preservation of Maine’s land. Proposals for funding will be accepted from Maine-based trusts, other nonprofits and governmental entities that conserve land or provide watershed protection.

The grant program helps preserve traditional land uses and public access, protects sensitive ecological areas and promotes greater appreciation of the environment. Grants are available for both projects and organizational development.

The deadline for applications is Oct. 15. A new online application is available at www.mainecf.org.

Last year, the Fund for Maine Land Conservation distributed more than $63,000. The 13 grants ranged in size from $2,500 to the maximum award amount of $7,500. Among organizations that received funding were the Androscoggin Land Trust, Coastal Mountains Land Trust, and Maine Audubon Society. A full list of recipients and grants is available online.
