LEWISTON —

The free public event will open in the Library’s Callahan Hall with Phillips speaking about his book, “CANNED! Artwork of the Modern American Beer Can.” The evening will then continue with tours of Baxter Brewing Co. followed by a reception and beer tasting.

“CANNED! Artwork of the Modern American Beer Can” provides a close look at the original artwork on over 600 different modern beer cans from across 40 states. “CANNED” tells the individual stories behind beer names and can designs, with examples from breweries such as Baxter Brewing Co., The Alchemist, Sierra Nevada, Ska, Midnight Sun, Maui, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, and nearly 200 others. The book features full-color images as well as a foreword by Dale Katechis, owner and founder of Oskar Blues Brewery.

Phillips is the founder and editor of CraftCans.com. A member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers, he is also a contributor and columnist for several beer-related publications both online and in print. He is a lover of all things craft beer, and an avid traveler. He lives with his family in Portland, Maine.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at both the Library and Baxter Brewing Co. on the night of the event. No registration is required. For more information, call 207-513-3135 or email LPLReference@LewistonMaine.gov.
