LEWISTON — The final last Friday Artwalk of the summer season will take place from 5-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, on Lisbon St. The event will feature the Maine Marimba Ensemble at 7 p.m. at Dufresne Plaza or the Lewiston Public Library if it rains. The Ensemble’s repertoire draws from the traditional and contemporary music of Zimbabwe.
A diverse selection of local visual arts at over 20 galleries will be the backbone of the event. Two such highlights include the Boys & Girls Club at L/A Arts, 221 Lisbon St. with their annual photo exhibit, and the New England School of Metalwork at Argo Marketing, 64 Lisbon St. with their first showing. The classical music of the Midcoast Quartet can be heard from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Lamey-Wellehan Gallery, 110 Lisbon St.
Last month, L/A Arts sold seven pieces of art, and hopes to reach its goal of selling 10 pieces in September, all of the proceeds of which go directly to our local artists. Visit www.artwalklewistonauburn.com or www.facebook.com/ArtWalkLewistonAuburn for art details.
