JAY — The Jay Village Water District lifted the boil-water order Wednesday for customers affected by the water break Friday on Smith Avenue.
The break in the aging pipes was fixed Saturday.
“Water samples were tested at a lab in Augusta and determined safe for public consumption,” district Treasurer Ron Moreau said.
“The water district wishes to express their thanks to all who were inconvenienced by this incident,” he said. “With special thanks to all who dedicated their time and talents to getting the word out and repairing the damage to the system.”
