Who in the Middle East acts with more impunity, and who has more business to be there — ISIS or the U.S.?

What is the difference between executing American journalists and assassinating non-combatant men, women and children by drone strikes or any other means of hurling lethal ordinance?

We rain bombs on and ship arms to these volatile regions in a vain attempt to protect the innocent and win friends and support for “American interests abroad.” All in the full knowledge that every exploded bomb creates more enemies than it kills, and the arms (many manufactured right here in Maine) in great measure fall into the hands of our new enemies.

What is wrong with respecting the integrity of the residents of other countries and providing them all humanitarian aid while they work out their own destinies, as we must continue to work out ours here at home?

Is this country really that afraid of losing cheap access to oil?

“An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth” never really worked and today is less effective than ever. If the U.S. continues to offer a violent response to a violent act, ever-deepening catastrophe is ours.
