SUMNER — Selectmen have awarded the paving contract for Black Mountain Road to Bruce A. Manza Inc. of Anson for $166,000. It was the lowest of two bids.

The plan is to put a 2½-inch base down this fall and cover it next June with an inch of tar.

The road commissioner reported at Tuesday’s board meeting that he had been replacing culverts on Black Mountain Road.

The Planning Board sought clarification on the selectmen’s request to compile a checklist on site review factors, according to selectmen secretary Bonny Bishop. The board determined it’s a conflict of interest for the code enforcement officer to do septic system work and issue the permit.
