WATERVILLE — Authorities say a Waterville area plane crashed in northern Quebec, killing one person and injuring two others.

The manager of Robert LaFleur Airport says the pontoon plane crashed midday Tuesday. The Morning Sentinel reports manager Randy Marshall confirmed the crash Wednesday morning. Marshall is declining to comment beyond confirmation that families were notified.

Marshall says the crash occurred near Baie Comeau, a city on the St. Lawrence River. The plane had three passengers and crashed into Lake Fleche. Canadian rescuers were involved in a search for survivors.
