KENNEBUNKPORT — An oil spill in Kennebunkport is expected to take a couple more days to clean up.
A sheen on the water off the village of Cape Porpoise was first reported Sunday night.
The Coast Guard spent Monday overseeing the cleanup along a 100- to 150-yard stretch of shoreline.
Coast Guard Lt. Commander Timm Balunis says the exact amount and the exact source of spill remains under investigation, but he thinks it was probably a one-time spill from a boat.
Booms were set out to contain and absorb the oil, but some remains on the shoreline rocks and seaweed. That will be the target of the cleanup on Tuesday.
Balunis say it does not appear as if any wildlife was affected.
