Recently, on a warm Saturday afternoon, candidate Eric Brakey stopped by my house to ask me for my thoughts and concerns about Maine politics.

I appreciate that he actually listened to my ideas, and responded to my concerns about reforming welfare and stopping the ongoing abuse of EBT cards on purchases of alcohol, cigarettes and gambling. After speaking with him, I know Brakey will stand up for fiscal responsibility and welfare reform in the Maine Senate.

Most importantly, he has something that seems to have been lost among those in Augusta: integrity.

Unlike the career politicians who entangle themselves with “good old boy” politics and only manage to enrich themselves, Brakey is a candidate who I am certain will go to Augusta to represent his constituents and their concerns.

Eric Brakey has my vote for the Maine Senate representing Auburn, Minot, Mechanic Falls, Poland and New Gloucester.
