SCARBOROUGH — Teens To Trails’ fundraising event “Bow Ties & Bean Boots” will take place from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Camp Ketcha. The event will be a night of live music, lawn games, and a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from the event will help Teens To Trails fulfill its mission by helping high schools around the state provide vital outdoor experiences for students through the creation and upkeep of Outing Clubs. Teens To Trails has been recognized by L.L. Bean and the White House for their work in Maine and hope to expand the successful initiative to help introduce the next generation to the outdoors and to the rest of the country in the future.

Bow Ties & Bean Boots is a great way to help ensure that when students return to school after Labor Day they will have funding to provide better access to the beauty of Maine through their Outing Clubs.

The event is for ages 21 and older and tickets are $35 per person. The night will start with appetizers donated by local restaurants and board members. El Corazon and Mainely Burgers food trucks will be on hand for dinner.

Local band Gunther Brown will play live music and Lively Brewing Company will provide beverage service while guests play lawn games and bid on a selection of donated auction items. The silent and live auction features a ski-and-stay package from Sugarloaf USA, a week long stay for up to seven people on Martha’s Vineyard, and Boston Red Sox tickets.

Lincoln Canoe and Kayak has donated a one-of-a-kind custom-built kayak for the auction.
