HEBRON — The 29th annual reunion of the Warren family was held at Hebron Pines on July 20.

This was a gathering of the descendants of the late F. Milton and Verlie Warren.

There were 188 people in attendance from Auburn, Augusta, Bath, Buckfield, Chesterville, Gardiner, Gorham, Gray, Greene, Hallowell, Hebron, Hollis, Jay, Leeds, Lisbon Falls, Lubec, Portland, Sanford, South Berwick, Sumner, Turner, Wayne, Wells and Winthrop; Grantham, N.H., Brockton, Mass.; and West Bridgewater, Mass.

The family members that had traveled the farthest distance were the children of Heidi Warren Vayda of Oberlin, Ohio. Jen Warren Poljacik and her two children also came from New Hampshire. Walter Warren was the oldest member in attendance. The youngest was Lucy Church who was born April 18, 2014, daughter of Katie (Dunn) and Dan Church of Buckfield.

During the past year the family has celebrated three weddings, 12 births, one adoption, four high school graduations and five college graduations.

During the reunion, three essays on the subject of the importance of family written by high school graduates Jake Vayda, Micah Madore and Rachelle Mendola were read aloud. These college-bound students received gifts of $100 each.

After a brief business meeting, Walter Warren shared a patriotic poem written by Judge Roy Moore. Brent Warren, an attorney in Massachusetts, encourage the group to not procrastinate in dealing with the unpleasant realities of estate planning and living wills, etc.

The annual fundraising auction was conducted by Abe Additon. A quilt made by Crystal Pineau (the 17th in a series of quilts) was sold for $300. A braided rug made by Esther Robinson sold for $475.

The total family count to date is 434.

Next year’s reunion will be held at Hebron Pines on Sunday, July 19.
