LEWISTON — Lewiston-Brunswick Bikes & Balloon Festival Ride will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. Participants will meet behind Rainbow Bicycle at 97 Lisbon St.

The cost is $10 for East Coast Greenway Alliance members; $20 nonmembers. To register visit eventbrite.com and search using key words “Bikes and Balloons.” Day-of registration will be available at Rainbow Bikes from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m.

The 40-mile festival-hopping bike tour will explore completed greenways and will highlight future and ongoing efforts to connect Lewiston, Lisbon and Brunswick by bike.

The ride will start in Lewiston just in time for the morning balloon launch and set out under a sky filled with hot air balloons, explore the completed and future extension of the Lisbon Papermill Trail and make its way to the Brunswick Downtown Arts Festival just in time for lunch, live music and local art.

Bring a camera and participate in the photo scavenger hunt while riding back to Lewiston for the final evening balloon launch.

Registrants are entitled to a 50 percent discount on a two-hour boat rental from L/A Canoe and Kayak Rentals. Enjoy the Great Falls Balloon Festival on the greenway and blueway.
