GRAFTON TOWNSHIP — Work will start Monday, Aug. 11, to replace a 20-foot box culvert on Route 26 over Bear River in Grafton Notch State Park.
Temporary traffic signals will be used to provide alternating one-way traffic for motorists during the Maine Department of Transportation project by the Drew Corp. of Lovell.
The $258,000 project is 1.78 miles north of the Newry town line, an MDOT spokesman said.
It is between the pullouts for Screw Auger Falls and Mother Walker Falls gorges.
The MDOT expects all work to be completed by mid-October.
