As I move around the city, I am seeing political signs for governor, Senate and state representatives. One appears on a building as you go toward the Longley Bridge and on lawns of home dwellers.
My question is, are these signs supposed to be up this early in the season? I thought there was a time frame which all seekers of public office had to abide by.
It is enough to see them everywhere when the race comes closer to voting.

Editor’s note: A city of Lewiston ordinance prohibits the placement of politicals signs within a public right-of-way more than six weeks before an election, in conformance with Maine law. Signs placed on private property are not subject to time limits.
